Field Day Featuring Specialized Farm Equipment, June 9

Specialized farm equipment will be showcased at a field day hosted by KyMarAcres and Windridge Implements on June 9. The equipment includes variousseeders, tiller and transplanters designed for small to medium-sized vegetablefarms.
KyMar Acres isdiversified farm owned by Kyle and Mari Holthaus and located between Waukon andDecorah. They raise 5 acres of vegetables, herbs and flowers for sales tofarmers markets and wholesale accounts. Visitors will also be able totour rotational grazing for laying hens, a greenhouse and farmstand where theirfarm products are sold.
A variety ofequipment will be featured including BCS two wheel tractors, Jang seeders fromSouth Korea, seed bed tillers, a Falc bed builder from France, Checchi &Maggli transplanters for vegetable sets and plasticulture layers in red, silverand deep green plastic. It is planting season and visitors can inspectsome of the recent plantings and watch new crops go into the ground.
The equipmentwill be provided by Windridge Implement, LLC (www.windridgeimplements.com). Windridge started carrying lines ofspecialized equipment in response to increased vegetable production in theregion. Equipment is available for purchase or lease.
